NEW YORK, November 9, 2012 – John Televantos, a Partner and Co-Head of the Specialty Industrials Group at Arsenal Capital Partners, a leading New York-based private equity firm that invests in middle-market specialty industrial and healthcare companies, will receive the lifetime achievement award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals at a dinner in New York City later this month.
“This very prestigious award to our partner John is an amazing honor to both John and the Arsenal team when you consider the caliber of honorees that the Institute selects for these awards,” said Terrence Mullen, a Partner at Arsenal Capital. “John has been an integral part of Arsenal’s Specialty Industrials team for seven years and has made significant contributions in helping Arsenal bolster its elite private equity franchise with an unrivaled investment record in the specialty chemicals, specialty materials, and commercial and industrial services markets.”
Also being honored at the dinner are John S. Watson, Chairman and CEO of Chevron and Ellen J. Kullman, Chair and CEO of DuPont. This year’s AIChE Annual Gala celebrating 50 years of “Engineering for a Sustainable Future” will be held Wednesday, November 28th at The Plaza Hotel in New York. 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of Rachel Carson’s book, Silent Spring, from which many date the birth of the modern environmental movement.
Dr. Televantos said, “I am extremely honored to receive this award from the AIChE and I would like to thank them for this recognition. I am especially proud to be joining such a prestigious group of honorees this year from Chevron and DuPont.”
Dr. Televantos joined Arsenal Capital in 2006 and during his tenure he has been part of several acquisitions and successful exits in the chemicals and materials sectors. In addition to serving on the boards of several Arsenal-owned companies, he is lead director on the board of Balchem Corp. Dr. Televantos holds BS and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from the University of London. Dr. Televantos strongly believes that technology is the best means of creating value in businesses and the economy.
